Free-standing sculptures and reliefs from the 18th to the early 19th century

The collection of the 19th century celebrates the art of making sculptures of this period. The first head of the Gipsformerei was Christian Daniel Rauch. As one of the most important representatives of the Berlin School of Sculpture, he has enriched the collection of the replica workshop with impressions of the most famous artists of his time. The range further goes from the German artists such as Gottfried Schadow and Christian Friedrich Tieck to international artists such as Jean-Baptiste Pigalle, Elisabeth Ney and Auguste Rodin.
